2010 Kiawah Art and House Tour
photo courtesy of Tina Schell Ø The natural environment of Kiawah’s “Preserve” neighborhood is the ideal setting for a home designed and built to be energy efficient. Constructed of insulated concrete form, and placed on the site to take full advantage of a southern exposure, overlooking Blue Heron Pond, energy use is reduced by 50%. All the building materials were acquired locally, and the interior walls, of natural earth plaster, dramatize the owners’ vivid art from the American Southwest, Haiti, and Asia~ particularly Vietnam. Use of color creates coherence and serenity, overall. Ø Please click here to view the next house Ø Please click here to view the previous house © COPYRIGHT 2010 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Gibbes,etc.org |
