Five exceptional homes, three of which have never before been toured, have been selected to provide a variety of experiences:

Ų Nestled in the woods overlooking the River Course, this shake shingle home contains unique furnishings and a collection of Lowcountry art. In addition, several rooms have been decorated with murals painted by well-known local artist Karl Beckwith Smith. A lovely garden and nautical-themed guesthouse are not to be missed. Ų Owners of a noted NY art gallery will open their just-completed Charleston-style home to tour visitors. The house was designed according to the Indian philosophy of Stahpatya that emphasizes the effect of light on emotions and daily activities. Ų Originally built by an early owner of Kiawah Island, this 18^th century building has been carefully restored and enlarged with the addition of a beautiful new wing. For most of the past 250 years it was the only dwelling on the island, surviving hurricanes, earthquakes and wars.
