“Art arises when the secret vision of the artist and the

manifestation of nature agree to find new shapes.”

                                                Kahlil Gilbran

Five exceptional homes, three of which have never before been toured, have been selected to provide a variety of experiences:

Ø      This is an elegant southern mansion with spectacular views of the ocean. The home is professionally decorated throughout, and features a spacious third floor master suite.  Click here to view a photo of House #1.

Ø      Nestled in the woods overlooking the River Course, this shake shingle home contains unique furnishings and a collection of Lowcountry art. In addition, several rooms have been decorated with murals painted by well-known local artist Karl Beckwith Smith. A lovely garden and nautical-themed guesthouse are not to be missed. Ø      Owners of a noted NY art gallery will open their just-completed Charleston-style home to tour visitors. The house was designed according to the Indian philosophy of Stahpatya that emphasizes the effect of light on emotions and daily activities. American art of the twentieth century is the focus of the wonderful collection on display in this lovely marsh-side home. Click here to view a photo of House #3.

Ø      Originally built by an early owner of Kiawah Island, this 18th century building has been carefully restored and enlarged with the addition of a beautiful new wing. For most of the past 250 years it was the only dwelling on the island, surviving hurricanes, earthquakes and wars. Situated on lovely grounds overlooking the Kiawah River, visitors to the home will get a taste of Lowcountry life in days gone by. Click here to view a photo of House #4.

Ø      Located on the tip of a small island surrounded by the marsh and Cinder Creek, this beautiful home contains lovely and unusual art from Africa or created by African-American artists. The complex includes a main house, guesthouse and pool house, each designed to take advantage of the wonderful views in all directions. Click here to view a photo of House #5.
